One fine day, I had a stark realisation about the stereotypical settings of portrait photography, I mean, nearly everyone is doing the same thing… SMILE (SAY CHEESE)… FLASH… CLICK.
I wanted to be free to create truly real, breath-taking and occasionally spectacular trademark photographs. Focusing upon using natural light where possible and on the occasions that I use assistive lighting, I use soft boxes to defuse harsh light. This also adds a touch of the moody, filmic look that we might see in the cinema.
I prefer pictures that capture the mood and tell an irresistable story.
Its an attempt to intimately capture the essence and beauty of a person, family or subject matter.
